EKZ is the energy provider for the canton of Zurich and one of the largest electric utility companies in Switzerland. As well as supplying almost one million people with electricity, EKZ encourages energy saving practices and promotes measures to increase energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
EKZ highly values fostering innovation and nurturing the future professional workforce. It financially supports several local universities with their research and education in the areas of power systems and electrical engineering. Furthermore, several projects focusing on renewable energy production have been realized in cooperation with different local colleges. Hence, EKZ also supports the project «Formula Student Electric».
The team of the Academic Motorsports Association Zurich (AMZ) successfully combines several aspects highly valued by EKZ: professional knowledge, creative problem solving, teamwork, personal engagement and the continued search for new challenges. AMZ’s continued focus on developing electric drivetrains fits together well with EKZ’s engagement for electric mobility.
EKZ strongly believes in the potential of electric cars for their high energy efficiency and reduced production of environmentally unfriendly emissions. Thus, EKZ has already included several electric cars into its corporate fleet for testing under realistic conditions. Furthermore, EKZ fosters the development of both private and public charging infrastructures.
